Consulting Services Delivery

Through this new offering, results are standardized and easy to understand. It allows a client to get performance metrics from our database, which contains information from more than six hundred clients across twenty industries. The benchmark report provides metrics regarding such focus areas as hardware, software, sourcing and personnel associated with each functional area of an IT organization. This gives clients the ability to answer questions such as:

  1. How do we quickly get an effective and efficient baseline set of metrics to help us in our assessment of an IT investment and/or expense reduction?
  2. What is the industry baseline that we can use for continuous measurement and improvement processes?
  3. What data can help us understand if our budget cuts are hurting our organization’s performance?
  4. What areas should we continue to invest in?

Our offering can quickly give clients the results necessary to help answer these questions and many more — at a fraction of the price of traditional IT benchmarking services. Through our offering, clients can now quickly obtain industry baseline benchmarks from similar organizations and industries in order to better understand how their investments may impact their organization, and where key changes may need to be made in order to improve overall efficiencies and be more responsive to their customers.

Description

This service offering provides a fast, cost efficient, quality benchmark report that supports our client’s IT investment and budget needs. The offering provides consistent results and formats from client to client and from benchmark to benchmark. Through our state of the art analysis system, we build statistical results that include selected peer organizations and produce final reports and charts.

Deliverables

Standard

TAC’s Benchmark Lite service provides a written benchmark report that is presented through easily understood charts and graphs. The benchmark report provides the client with a choice of any twenty metrics, selected from our current list of operational metrics, across up to three modules or functions (help desk, mainframes, midrange servers, data networking, voice networking, application development, application support, end user and business unit satisfaction). There is no data collection required, as Benchmark Lite is an analysis of industry benchmark data contained in our database, and not a comparative analysis of the client against the database. As such the report can usually be delivered in three business days.

The written report contains metrics pertaining to the client’s selected industry’s top quartile and bottom quartile as well as our total database average.

Optional

If the client can provide workload and complexity input using our existing data collection techniques, then we will also provide a customized workload and complexity peer group along with top and bottom quartiles for the client’ selected industry peers. This enhanced set of comparisons provides valuable insight into the workload and complexity driving the performance of the IT organization.
